Alzheimer’s Association offers virtual programs The Georgia Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association is now offering virtual programs, such as yoga and a monthl...y luncheon. There’s no reason we can’t still enjoy these activities together, said Early Stage Program Manager Mary Caldwell. Social engagement and support is critical to our attendees and an essential element of what we do here. The first virtual picnic occurred Friday, March 26 and was set up through a cloud-based video conferencing service called Blue Jeans. Virtual sessions of gentle yoga with Kathy Alvarez focuses on fundamentals such as meditation and breathing techniques. Caldwell is also working with the High Museum of Art to offer virtual tours of the museum. To help family caregivers navigate the novel coronavirus pandemic, the Alzheimer’s Association has also offered additional guidance to families at alz.org/COVID19 The Alzheimer’s Association remains committed to doing our part to provide much-needed access to education and other resources while we are all in this crisis, said Alzheimer’s Association Georgia Chapter Director Linda Davidson.
