The Sycamore Tree

We are excited to announce The Sycamore Tree is open each Tuesday from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. We are still practicing social distancing as we want our volunteers to remain safe.

INFORMATION CONCERNING CHRISTMAS 2020!!!

Please Share: Starting Tuesday, November 5, our Sycamore Tree Warehouse will only be accepting donations for our Sycamore Christmas Tree. No other donations will be accepted until January 2020. If you would like to donate to our Sycamore Christmas Tree, we are collecting gently used and new toys for children and age appropriate items for teenage boys and girls for Christmas. Please see our wish list below. Donation hours are Tuesday from 10-12 and 2-4:30.

OPENING INFORMATION The Sycamore Tree plans to reopen on July 7 but there will be major changes taking place. The new requirements are listed below: -Masks will be required during your visit. If you don't have a mask we will provide you with one. -Only one family member will be allowed to come in and talk with us. -Only two or three people will be allowed in the office lobby at one time. If we get backed up, we will begin seeing only people with scheduled appointments. ... Please be patient with us as we address all these changes to our way of doing things. Please Share: We are accepting Christmas applications from families that may need assistance for Christmas Gifts for their children on every Tuesday through November 17. Our hours are 10-12 and 2-4. The Christmas shopping date will be December 15. You must be available on this date for the scheduled appointment that will be set. We have very limited appointment times so, please make sure you come in as soon as possible. The following will be required:... 1. Must be a Pierce County Resident 2. Picture ID of applicant (current) 3. Current bill containing the name and address of the individual applying for assistance 4. You will be required to provide information about each child from birth through 12th Grade 5. If School age, you must bring proof from the school counselor for the child enrolled in Pierce County Schools. 6. Must go through our interview process for us to determine your level of need 7. This past week has been a very busy week for all of our volunteers. We held our annual Sycamore Christmas Tree at the MAC Building at First Baptist Church. During signups, parents were asked to provide us with a wish list. Because of your generous donations of money and toys, we were able to provide requested toys for many children. We have many we would like to thank. First we want to thank God for the blessings He has given to this ministry. Thank you to all of our v...olunteers that worked the long hours to make this event such a success. Thank you to First Baptist Church for the use of the MAC building. Thank you to the youth group from Emmanuel Baptist Church that loaded and unloaded our many boxes for set up. Also to all of the churches in Pierce County that support our ministry, Thank You. We especially would like to thank, Addictive Aquatics and Progressive Rail for sponsoring Toy Drives and donating toys to us. You will make many children happy on Christmas morning. Thank you to all that donated toys, money, and your personal time. To God be the glory.

Our Holiday Schedule: Tuesday, November 26 Our Office and Warehouse will be open from 10-12. We will be closed for the afternoon hours.... Tuesday, December 3, will be the last day of this year that our office and warehouse will be open. We will be accepting last minute Christmas donations for our Sycamore Christmas Tree. All of our normal services will be available. Monday, December 9 We will be setting up for our Sycamore Christmas Tree at the MAC Building-First Baptist Church. If you would like to volunteer, please meet us at 10 a.m. Today will be the last day of accepting Christmas Toys. Tuesday, December 10: Office is closed. Warehouse is closed. We will be at our Sycamore Christmas Tree-MAC Building-First Baptist Church. Must have our invitation to attend. No other services will be available. Volunteers are needed from 9:45 to 7:00. Wednesday, December 11: We will be packing up and returning all items left to Sycamore. If you would like to volunteer, please be at the MAC Building at 10.
