Happy Tuesday! It's time for another traffic tip from our Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic (H.E.A.T.) Unit. It is against the law to drive in the highway gore area unless directed to do so by an official traffic-control device or a law enforcement officer. The gore is "the area of convergence between two lanes of traffic," as stated in the Official Code of Georgia Annotated (O.C.G.A.) 40-6-50. UPDATE (JUNE 9, 2021, 10:00 A.M.): At this time, we can confirm the 16-year-old and 17-year-old victims were female. There was a third victim located. The victim was a 15-year-old male who had left the scene of the incident to receive treatment. The victims were a 16-year-old and 17-year-old. One of the victims were shot in the arm, and the other victim was shot in the foot. Both were transported to a local hospital.
