Lambert HS and Riverwatch Middle School are proud to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) this school year through the Hero Squad Program! Forsyth Cou...nty Schools has long supported the LLS mission to cure Leukemia, Lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and Melanoma, to improve the quality of life for patients and their families, and to provide support to blood cancer patients in our local community. Student Council President Faith Johnson, pictured below, is Lambert’s Hero Squad Honored Hero! Back in November, Faith (who is a member of the varsity Lambert Swim & Dive Team, Compass, IGEM, Lambert HOSA, BETA, and NHS) was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and has been fighting hard, receiving chemotherapy treatments throughout this school year. Through it all, her spirits have been high, and she is determined to conquer all obstacles in her path! We can do it! We have already raised $1,100! Our fundraising campaign will run through Friday, March 5th. *If you donate, please consider donating on your child’s Grade Level Class Page (links for each class on the fundraising page). Lambert HS will be having some great events tied into supporting this worthy cause, including these activities: Class/Grade Level Spirit Competitions Weekly Spirit Points for the most donations. Shave to Save this ongoing incentive is based upon reaching our fundraising goals, as staff members will shave their heads in support of our blood cancer patients. If we reach our goal of raising $15,000, Dr. Davison, Lambert’s Principal, will shave his head! 1,000 Roses for Leukemia/Lymphoma - Buy a Rose for Your Hero! Roses will be on sale for $2.00 Tuesday, 2/16 Thursday, 2/18 during lunch and before school. Parents may also purchase roses on www.mypaymentsplus.com beginning Tuesday, 2/16. Roses will be delivered on Friday, 2/19. February 18 - 26 Hero Squad 7-Day Competition - Who is the True Hero Squad of the School? Squads (Clubs, Sports Teams, Grade Level Classes, and Staff) are to collect as much money as possible on their day. Which squad can raise the most money? *Details will be forthcoming closer to the 18th. There will be more activities shared in the last week of the fundraising campaign. We hope you consider joining the Lambert Hero Squad and donate to LLS so they can continue to provide patient support and education and fund research to improve outcomes for all blood cancer patients!
