We started our Parking Lot Revival last week with a great sermon under the trees by our Pastor John Tomlin. This week, remember to break out your floral prints for "Hawaiian Shirt Day". We have all the supplies we need for our service project after this Sunday's service; we will be assembling Hygiene Kits under the portico for a local shelter. Remember the service starts at 10am.
How long has it been since you went to a rock concert? Get ready to "plug in" with Rev. Tomlin in this week's video sermon!
Who is that man in white wig? Join us this week as Pastor John channels his inner John Wesley. Come join us Sunday June 6th at 10am for the first service of our June Parking Lot Revival. Have you ever heard the term "prevenient grace"? In this week's video sermon Rev. Tomlin explains and discusses the implications as God provides grace to us, even before we seek it.
We are slowly working our way back to a full choir in the Sunday services, but for today enjoy this video of a small group from the NFUMC Choir.
This week Rev. Tomlin starts a series of sermons on "grace". As humans we're not perfect, so grace is essential to our relationship with God and each other.
In this week's video sermon, Rev. Tomlin finishes his sermon series on "assurance". Each day be assured of God grace and love through his Son Jesus Christ!
Another mid-week musical video to brighten the day from our own Pastor John Tomlin.
This week's video sermon by Rev. Tomlin has the "right stuff". Watch right now to find out more. Be sure to share with your family and friends.
A little something to brighten your week - a video of our own Agape Ringers from last Sunday's service!
In this video of last week's sermon, Pastor John continues the theme of "assurance" for this period after Easter. Watch to see how he connects the dots between the disciple Thomas, doubt and assurance. Be sure to share! Please join us for worship each Sunday at 10:30am with three ways to participate: 1. Inside The Grove (socially distanced)... 2. Outside under the portico watching the video feed, 3. In your car listening to the loud speakers. We look forward to seeing you!
Happy New Year! We continue our series of video services with this week's Epiphany service featuring music, prayer, and a sermon from guest speaker Rev. David Jones.
Blessings for 2021 - hopefully we will be back together soon.
A very special video Christmas service with great music from LaGrange College, guest speakers, and the virtual UMC chorus.
Merry Christmas!
Tonight Pastor John Tomlin served communion and prayers outdoors. We collected donations for Fayette Samaritans food bank from our members as they arrived. It was sleeting on the way to the church with bitter wind at 5:00. About 6:00, the rain and sleet stopped the the sun came out, then a beautiful sunset. Thank you Pastor John, for making it a special Christmas Eve Join us for the online services and the in house services when we are able to meet together!

We had a successful Amaris Alvarez Memorial 5K on October 31st to raise funds for a great cause the Sharing Hearts Fund. A foundation established by Aramis and Alicia Alvarez, Sharing Hearts works through American and Honduran nonprofit organizations to provide funding, expertise, and resources that improve the lives of disadvantaged people in Honduras. Assistance is provided in the form of food, supplies, wheelchairs and other equipment for those with disabilities, as well as through educational opportunities, love, and mentoring. Thanks to all our participants and especially our great sponsors! Please take a moment to view this photo montage of the event.
Come join us for the third Sunday of Advent with this new video service by Rev. John Tomlin filled with music, prayer, and scripture.

Returning to Video Services Only as of November 22nd Fayette County is once again in the orange level COVID-19 infection level. With the deteriorating health situation and cooling temperatures, NFUMC will be returning to online worshipping only starting November 22nd. We do not know when we will be back in person; this could last until well into next year. We deeply regret that the advent season is going to be all online; however, we need to be prudent and take all proper... precautions to avoid spreading this virus. As of now we’re still planning for the Christmas Eve service to be held on the church lawn at 7pm. Lord willing, we will sing carols together then. You can still participate in NFUMC worship through a new video sermon each week that you can access from our Facebook page or website.
A banjo musical moment this week!

If you do not feel well or are uncomfortable about getting out, please stay home and healthy. You can still participate in NFUMC worship through this new video sermon by Pastor John Tomlin.

As always, remember your mask and, if you feel unwell, please stay home. You can also watch last week's sermon below.

Dear North Fayette UMC Family, Due to a trio of circumstances outside our control, we will not be having live worship this week. The weather forecast, including the potential impact of a tropical storm, looks like it will literally "dampen" (pun intended) the church parking lot drive-in revival experience. ... Also, my (Rev. John's) potential COVID-19 exposure on a scouting event last Saturday, along with pastor Mike fighting off a nasty cough/cold, make gathering too risky for all involved. I was notified Wednesday evening that another dad in my son's scout troop tested positive for COVID-19. While I and my son had very little contact with this particular individual and his son on Saturday's troop trip rafting in Columbus, we went to get tested anyway and will not know our results until next week. I strongly feel that the potential risk of exposing others, in combination with those other two reasons, is too much for us to safely gather. As we talked about in the sermon last Sunday, methodist rule #1 is "Do no harm". I will record a video message for this week which we will post on Facebook and the "pastor's blog" at www.nfumc.com. Continue to hold each other, our neighbors, our country, and our world in prayer. Unless you hear otherwise, we'll see each other again for worship in the parking lot on August 9 at 9:30am. Not to leave you without homework, we'll keep comparing the parables in Matthew 13 to the other gospels. We've already compared it to Luke 8 and Mark 4. This week, compare Matthew 13 to John 10 and consider how people react to Jesus' use of metaphor and his message. See you soon; God bless, Rev. John Tomlin

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of John Davis. His passing happened quickly with a heart attack this morning. John, Pam and family have been active members of this church for many years. He will be greatly missed. I can almost hear his infectious laughter. The family is still in shock. ... Pam says she doesn't need anything at this time besides prayers for their family. No further details have been determined. Please keep Pam, JR, Jeri and their families in your prayers. As we learn more, we will share with the congregation. Heaven has a gained a tremendous Christian servant!
Parking Lot Revival! Due to developments with COVID-19, North Fayette UMC is moving worship outside starting Sunday July 19th. Since it's revival season anyway, we're calling it a "Parking Lot Revival" (without the casseroles and fried chicken). To beat the heat, we'll begin at 9:30am; lot ushers will direct you to park in the shade. Worship from your car windows down, over the radio with the windows up, or bring a lawn chair and sit in front of your vehicle. ... Please remember your mask and practice social distancing; if you do not feel well or are uncomfortable about getting out, please stay home and healthy. You can still participate in NFUMC worship through a new video sermon from Pastor John that you can access from our Facebook page or website.
Join us for Pastor John Tomlin's video sermon entitled "Scar Stories".
Special Announcement In light of the recent spike in COVID-19 cases and the recommendation from Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson to churches in the North Georgia Conference, North Fayette UMC will suspend all in-person services and meetings until further notice. As we again socially distance to ensure the safety of our congregation, we will not spiritually distance! We encourage you to take advantage of the video sermons posted by Pastor John each week on the website and the ch...urch Facebook page. Also, the North Georgia Conference has compiled a list of live-streamed or recorded worship services at www.ngumc.org that you can watch online. Pastor John and the Board will also investigate other ways for us to worship together safely including drive-in services and live-streamed online options. All your ideas are very welcome. If you are sheltering in place and need groceries or other supplies, please contact the church office or anyone on the Board so that we can arrange assistance for you. Everyone please stay safe and healthy! Yours in service, Steve Justice - NFUMC 2020 Board Chair
We were extremely honored to have such an exceptional vocalist today - Brett Vogel singing The Lord's Prayer. This is the best rendition I have heard - I love the deep timbre of his voice.
Today was a great first service with Rev. John Tomlin. Brett Vogel did an amazing job singing The Lord's Prayer.

North Fayette UMC will welcome our new minister - Pastor John Tomlin - on Sunday July 5th at 10:30am. During the current spike in COVID-19 cases in our state, we want to ensure that our entire congregation stays virus-safe. If for any reason you do not feel comfortable attending in person, we encourage you to take advantage of the video sermon posted by Pastor John to join us spiritually. ... Also the North Georgia Conference has compiled a list of live-streamed or recorded worship services at ngumc.org that you can watch online. For the in-person service we will be meeting in The Grove and following all North Georgia Conference virus safety protocols including wearing of masks by all in attendance. If you do not have a mask, we will have disposable masks at the entrance for you. Please continue your prayers for our community and nation as we face this troubling time.
