The North Georgia Housing and Homeless Council has awarded $72,200 to various churches and organizations across north Georgia who are working to serve and assist those experiencing home displacement and poverty! Your contributions and generosity goes directly towards the grants that are awarded. While our Spring Grant Cycle has ended, your continued support and donations will be utilized in assisting organizations and churches through our Fall 2021 Grant Cycle. Did you know that Embry Hills United Methodist Church provides over 300 weekend meals for families in their community through their Snax Sax program? Members of Embry Hills UMC prepare these meals each and every week! This is just one of the many different kinds of missions and ministries that The Housing and Homeless Offering goes to support through its grant awards. We are proud to share that all of the money collected through The Offering goes directly towards projects like Snax Sax at Embry Hills UMC. Many churches and organizations across North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church have donated and contributed to the 2021 Housing and Homeless Offering. Today is the LAST DAY to submit your applications for our Spring Grant Cycle! Please complete all forms by midnight tonight, including the Endorsing Church Form. All applicants must have an endorsing United Methodist Church affiliate. The I-58 Mission is just one of the many incredible organizations that has been awarded grants through The Housing and Homeless Offering. Their mission to feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, and set the oppressed free provides much needed support to families and individuals living in the Senoia area. Every dollar given towards The Housing and Homeless Offering goes directly back to churches and organizations working to end the cycles of homelessness and poverty. The Offering goes to support projects such as transitional housing, mobile clinics, food distribution, Habitat builds, and so much more. REMINDER: The last day to complete and submit your Spring Cycle application for a grant through The Housing and Homeless Council is next Monday, March 1! Visit our website and apply online, no paper necessary! We consider capital grants up to $10,000, operational grants up to $2,500, as well as special capital grants for Habitat for Humanity builds up to $5,000. Your church or organization must be affiliated with or partner with a local United Methodist Church to be considered. Apply online today at nghhc.org/apply-for-a-grant.
