We are so incredibly proud of the research Nicole Cortes and her teacher, Jennifer Coleman, from Luella High School of Henry County (Henry County Board of Education) have conducted as part of the National History Day Sacrifice for Freedom: World War II in the Pacific program. Way to represent NHD GA! Over the past year, Nicole and Jennifer have been researching the life of Seaman First Class Lawrence J. Waszkiewicz. Today on his birthday, they share their research with all of us. We welcome you to read Lawrence Waskiewicz’s complete story at https://buff.ly/2QoW3cu. Thank you to the Naval History & Heritage Command for their support of the NHD's Silent Heroes program.
