August is Immunization Awareness Month. Adults should get vaccines to protect their health just like children. Even healthy adults can become seriously ill, and can pass certain illnesses on to others. Immunization is especially important for older adults and for adults with chronic conditions such as asthma, COPD, diabetes, or heart disease. Please talk to your physician if you have any questions regarding immunization.

Today is #WorldHepatitisDay. There are an estimated 3.2 million people in the United States living with hepatitis C. People born between 1945 and 1965 are the largest cohort at risk for the infection and most of us have no idea that we may be infected. If you were born between 1945-1965, ask your doctor about testing for Hepatitis C. Richard Kauffman, M.D. (NAPC-West Paces) Learn more about Hepatitis C, and why you should get tested! http://www.northatlantaprimarycare.com/news-topic.php
