Some common questions we get about dermaplaning: Does it hurt? Not at all. A good comparison is how it feels when a cat licks you with their rough tongue. (Hopefully you know what I’m talking about ) Am I going to grow a beard after doing it?? Nope! We use a surgical blade to shave the ends from the fine vellus hairs. Your hair will grow back, but no beard. ... Pre and post care? Do not use any actives (retinol, BHA, vitamin C, etc) the week before or the week after. Do not exfoliate for at least a week after.
