Hello North Metro Miracle League Cherokee family! We are partnering with Circle of Friends and ACR to help put this event on at Patriots Park on June 4th from 6pm to 10pm. Our goal is to raise $25,000 and we hope to eclipse that number! If you can possibly donate, that would be great, but if not please share this video and the event: https://www.facebook.com/events/388957345478672/ as far and as wide as you can! We hope to see a lot of our friends and supporters there!... Thank you! Rick Davies Commissioner North Metro Miracle League Cherokee

Good morning everyone! I hope you are all doing well and enjoying these temperate days and chilly autumn evenings! While I wish we had all been enjoying them along with some North Metro Miracle League baseball, the universe had other plans for us this year. However, with hope and anticipation much like a child on Christmas morning, I am here to announce that we have secured our dates for our Spring 2021 season.... Here are the dates we have reserved: March 20th March 27th April 3rd April 10th April 17th April 24th May 1st (Makeup Game) May 8th (Makeup Game) It is my sincerest hope that COVID will be gone (or at least to the point where it is not a major concern) at this time. As we have done this year we will need to evaluate the situation and, of course, take into account any guidance from the CDC and WHO to determine if the season will commence on our Opening Day of March 20th (and we really, really, really hope it will! We miss ALL OF YOU!) We are absolutely looking forward to getting back on the field with all of our athletes, buddies and volunteers and putting some smiles on the faces of everyone in attendance! We hope you all are staying safe and well! Please reach out if you have any questions and we hope that we will see everyone in 2021! Sincerely, Rick Davies Commissioner, NMMLC

The news that never gets reported. Tomorrow, if the weather had permitted, week five of North Metro Miracle League Baseball would have been played, well if ...that COVID thing wasn’t around. Before the COVID thing became an issue, the commissioner of the league, Rick Davies, and his fiancée, Bethany Satterfield Feehery, had planned their wedding a week after the season was scheduled to end. For those of you who may not be aware, they don’t have a child in the league. Let that sink in for a minute...or five. They literally scheduled their wedding for the benefit of everyone except themselves. Due to the COVID thing, they had to postpone their wedding. Last week, they announced a new date late next February. Most people wouldn’t have given that much thought other than a different date on the calendar. Then again, as the former league commissioner who didn’t schedule a vacation or weekend event during the spring or fall of any year since 2002, I noticed loud and clear. Once again, Rick and Bethany scheduled their special day around the league. Such commitment and dedication commands respect and recognition. Trust me, unfortunately from experience, there will be no newspaper article recognizing their commitment and dedication to the league. And being forthright, that’s not what they’re seeking. On the other hand, I’m respectfully asking that you acknowledge and recognize their contribution to the special needs individuals of our community through North Metro Miracle League. Five hours on the field, for six weeks, every spring and fall plus untold administrative effort can not be properly placed into words. And throw in (double entendre intended) scheduling two wedding dates around the league...I’ll let you try to find the words.

Good evening everyone! I hope this note finds everyone doing well and acclimating as best as possible with all that has been happening over the last few months. I know many of you have been waiting to hear if we would be having a Fall Season of Miracle League and I am here tonight to let you know that after speaking with some trusted advisors and looking to find a way to ensure that we have the means to keep the equipment sanitized and clean between player usage and innings,... make sure we observe proper social distancing guidelines whenever possible, ensure players physical safety on the field and the fact that sanitizing products in the quantities we would require from week to week are still in short supply we, regretfully, must cancel the Fall Season this year. Please know that this is not the way we had hoped things would turn out for Fall Season and that this decision did not come easy nor was it made lightly and with great duress. We know your athletes look forward to the season and we look forward to spending time on the field with your athletes and seeing their smiles and happiness when they are out there playing. Next year is the 20th anniversary of North Metro Miracle League Cherokee and I am truly hoping that we can make it a spectacular year with lots of special things we can do for and with the athletes. I know this announcement will be met with both agreement and disagreement depending on a multitude of factors and please know that as I have said in the past, we have to take into account the health and safety of every single athlete that joins us on the field and I do not take that responsibility lightly as I fondly consider every single athlete "my child" as well. I know that Miracle League is an integral part of our athletes lives in the spring and the fall and, once all of this is behind us, I truly hope we can count on everyone to come out and celebrate 20 years of Miracle League and help make the 2021 season a fantastic time for everyone. Most of you know that I strive to be completely open and forthcoming with my communications so if you have any questions, whatsoever, please do not hesitate to reach out to me and I will respond to you as quickly as I possibly can. As always, we thank you for your constant and continued support of our program and look forward to seeing everyone in the Spring of 2021. Please be safe and if there is anything I can do to help in any way I am capable of helping, please let me know. Rick Davies Commissioner North Metro Miracle League Cherokee

Good afternoon everyone! I hope you are all doing well! We are well into the throes of summer and we are hoping that we may salvage a chance at a fall season which brings me to my reason for posting. I have created a short 5 question survey I would love to have our parents, athletes and volunteers/buddies complete if possible!... I hope everyone has been staying safe and, I dont know about you all, but I MISS OUR SATURDAY GAMES, OUR ATHLETES AND OUR BUDDIES, VOLUNTEERS AND TEAMS! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/MFFBKQX
