Toenails have a simple function: protect your toes. Frustratingly, they often fail in that task. For many reasons, the edge or corner of a toenail might take an unwelcome detour into the soft flesh of your toe, causing pain, tenderness, andif allowed to festersometimes even a nasty infection. Reach out for our help if your situation meets any of the following criteria: 1. You notice any signs of an infection, including excessive redness or drainage. 2. You have a circulat...ory condition such as diabetes or peripheral vascular disease, or any kind of neuropathy (nerve damage) in your feet. 3. Your pain is significant or interfering with your daily life. 4. Home care is not leading to any improvement with symptoms. 5. You’ve regularly had ingrown toenails in the past, or you just don’t want to deal with it anymore. The good news is that getting an ingrown toenail fixed by a podiatrist is a quick and relatively painless procedure that can bring near-instant relief. We can numb your toe and remove the ingrown part of the toenail all in the comfort of our office today. If desired, we can also remove a small portion of the nail root, which will permanently prevent the ingrown nail from returning. Your Podiatrist will be able to guide you more in person on if this procedure is right for you. See more

We see a lot of foot and ankle problems- that’s kind of our job! And whether you have painful bunion, hammer toes, fallen arches, ankle pain or anything in between- we are here to help get you feeling better. One of the most popular conservative treatments we offer are custom molded orthotics. Custom orthotics are specially made devices designed to support and comfort your feet. Prescription orthotics are crafted for you and no one else. They match the contours of your feet p...recisely and are designed for the way you move. Orthotics are only manufactured after a podiatrist has conducted a complete evaluation of your feet, ankles, and legs, so the orthotic can accommodate your unique foot structure and pathology. Orthotics typically cost more than shoe inserts purchased in a retail store, but the additional cost is usually well worth it. Unlike shoe inserts, orthotics are molded to fit each individual foot, so you can be sure that your orthotics fit and do what they're supposed to do. Custom orthotics work like glasses, you can need different prescriptions on each foot! We will write for this prescription once we see and evaluate your feet to make sure we can improve your foot’s ideal biomechanical positioning. Prescription orthotics are also made of top-notch materials and last many years when cared for properly. Insurance often helps pay for prescription orthotics. If you are interested in learning more about prescription orthotics, let us know and we can work on getting your feet more comfortable! See more

You may have seen some news articles recently talking about "COVID Toes" and many of our patients want more information on this topic. While the results are still very preliminary, COVID toes are generally, red areas on Toes, Heels or Fingers that appear similar to Chicken Pox, Chilblains or Measles and occur in patients who also have COVID-19. These areas normally heal without leaving a mark!! Most of the patients experiencing skin lesions are children and young people (20 t...o 35 years old). Very few of the patients studied presented with clinical respiratory conditions. Although there is some mild discomfort or pain when pressed, the skin lesions were mostly asymptomatic; some people have noticed itching along with redness. Some of the patients presented with a fever or a cold 3-4 weeks before skin redness occurred. In one case study, 20.4% of confirmed COVID patients had some type of dermatological manifestation. These lesions sometimes appear at the same time as the COVID infection but in other cases, the skin changes were not noticed until after hospital discharge. Of the reported cases, 78% of the patients presented with an erythematous (red) rash, 17% an acute urticaria(itching) and 5% vesicular lesions (blistering). We have also included a photo of some examples of patients who have had these types of lesions on their toes and heels. IF you think that you may have COVID toes, call our office today. We will ask that you send us a photo of your feet first for us to look at before coming into the office to avoid any potential spreading of COVID. Once one of our doctors has seen a photo of your foot and talked with you over the phone or on a Zoom meeting, we can go from there to getting you the best care and testing. Again, we are getting reports and pictures of these lesions but very few studies have been published at this point and many of them are from international sites. We wanted to provide our patients with a summary of some of these articles for easy reference and as of today this is the most recent information available. We will continue to update if we have new information. Stay Safe! See more
