North Point Pediatrics News and Tips 19.06.2021

We now have our Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines in stock for 12 year old's and up. We are doing these appointments on Tuesdays. Please call to make an appointment. After scheduling your Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine it is very important that you keep your appointment. We have to prepare the vaccine for administration and have to use it the same day. If you make an appointment and cannot make it we ask that you please call at least two days ahead to reschedule. CDC recommends everyone ...12 years and older should get a COVID-19 vaccination to help protect against COVID-19. Widespread vaccination is a critical tool to help stop the pandemic. Getting your child or teen vaccinated can bring you one step closer to enjoying the activities you miss. Children 12 years and older are able to get the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine. We still have Moderna and Johnson & Johnson available for any resident of Georgia over the age of 18.

Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine (Johnson & Johnson): Effective April 23, 2021, CDC and FDA recommend that use of the Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine resume in the United States. However, women younger than 50 years old should be made aware of a rare risk of blood clots with low platelets following vaccination and the availability of other COVID-19 vaccines where this risk has not been observed. Read the CDC/FDA statement. CDC will publish an update in Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report early next week related to the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendation and is updating relevant clinical materials and guidance. We are making appointments, call (770) 664-0088.

These are the current CDC recommendations for return to the community: A quarantine period of 14 days for asymptomatic persons with exposure to a positive contact. However, based on local circumstances and resources, the following options to shorten quarantine are acceptable alternatives. * Quarantine can end after Day 10 without testing and if no symptoms have been reported during daily monitoring. * When diagnostic testing resources are sufficient and available, quaran...tine can end after Day 7 if a PCR or antigen test performed no earlier than day 5 of quarantine is negative, and if no symptoms were reported during daily monitoring. Quarantine cannot be discontinued earlier than after Day 7, even if a negative test result is available and the contact is asymptomatic. In both cases, additional criteria (e.g., continued symptom monitoring and masking through Day 14) must be met. OR A 10-day isolation period for most people with symptoms. See more
