Violent crime throughout the United States continues to rise while other categories either stay stagnant or decrease. Gang violence in Chicago, Los Angeles, and other cities have caused a large part of this uptick. Gang violence is a plague that is only going to continue to move throughout the country during the current upheaval caused by groups that oppose law enforcement and our country’s current political divisions. These gangs are infiltrating schools, neighborhoods, coun...ty jails and prisons. To address these issues within Columbus Georgia and the surrounding areas NSA has put together a one-day symposium titled: Understanding and Responding to Gang Activity. The instructors for this program are gang experts from Georgia and Alabama and will focus on issues related to street gang operations, law enforcement reactions and prosecutions. This program will start at 8 AM at Troy University, 1510 Third Avenue, Phenix City on January 27. The $150 tuition includes instruction and coffee, bottled water, and lunch. Understanding and Responding to Gang Activity focuses on delivering important information to law enforcement officers, prosecutors, educators and those involved in community program administration. Reg...istration for non-PRS members will go live on Monday June 20th at 0900 hrs. If the match fills up, don't worry. We are anticipating being able to add slots closer to match time.
