Conceptualization of How to Write an NSCS Officer Position as volunteer work. I noticed some of the officer positions can be added to a resume as job experience, or equally important; Volunteer Experience. You can even post this information as a job description. In a webinar Last week for people with the new GoogleIT Certificate (which helps you go from 0% IT experience to being efficient at Information Technology moderate level) (Coursera.org), Top Professionals stated Volun...teer work shows employers many things, such as in the way of experience in what you have done. Volunteer work shows devotion in many ways to something you value to a potential future employer. Showing you are devoted, is something business now look for in employees. What does devotion translate to a hiring manager or company? Devotion to a cause in volunteering shows enthusiasm, teamwork, communication, problem solving and leadership-which translate to awesome things you should have on your resume/cover-letter or linked in Profile. If you need help, just look up in google for example how to write a job description and use it to create the description of what you do for volunteering.

Hey NSCS, we all had a blast last night during the Jackbox event. It was a lot of fun. Here are some words from our CSU NSCS Chapter President (Marissa Page): "A HUGE thank you to those of you who joined in Jackbox Game Night tonight! And a big thank you to Doctor Jackson for attending! It was so much fun, and I hope everyone had as much fun as I did!" If anyone is interested in learning more about what we do here at NSCS, please join us for our Interest Meeting on September ...8th at 6pm! Our next event will be Disney Trivia, September 18th at 7pm! I hope to see you all there and be sure to invite your friends, and charge your phones/tablets/laptops as it will be Kahoot style Trivia! Both of these events are fully virtual to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Thank you again! Feel free to reach out to me at any time should you have any questions!
Lets start a conversation-I know you all are busy this semester. But hear me out because this is important. I am starting a conversation about college, and why it is relevant, and what else do you have to have when it comes to going for that Job in whatever field of study you may endeavor. College is a major stepping stone towards gaining the level of expertise one needs to become a competent professional in your field of study. But what if everyone you are competing with ...has a degree then what? What else is needed? Internships are one of the best if not the best way to gain the upper hand when it comes to gaining the experience needed and begin to build up a knowledge base for learning how to deal with patients/clients; with what works and what doesn't. NYU has institutions that off 40-50 hours of Intern schedules. However what I want to see is someone show me what exactly can you do now, while you are in school. What are some of the Intern experiences you can gain while pursuing your undergraduate degree in Psychology? For example there are actually internships for undergraduates on Indeed.com and other sites like it right now. Like this for example for Clinical Psychology: Indeed.com has opportunities for students currently in undergraduate study programs: Psychology Intern Anxiety & OCD Center Malvern, PA 19355 The Anxiety OCD Center seeks undergraduate or post-Baccalaureaunselor or Therapist? Don't be afraid to chime in, this is a learning experience so we all help each other get out the door after gradute psychology interns pursuing a career in psychology If you are interested in this position, please submit curriculum vitae, a cover letter, and three reference letters. This is all that they needed for this particular Intern offer. See more
