We're sharing the hype - live and in person! This Sunday, May 16, members of the Downtown Macon Hype Team will be out and about during The Market: Downtown Macon from 11am to 3pm. Visit #downtownmacon to shop with local vendors, enjoy brunch, and support downtown businesses. Look out for Hype Team members wearing orange T-shirts. Enjoy the beautiful weather and go on a StoryWalk during First Friday! We're partnering with the Middle Georgia Regional Library to host this fun, family-friendly activity each month. Our friends at the library selected "Agent Lion" as this month's book. Read this charming whodunit and learn more about the library's summer reading program. Pages of the book will be placed in the windows of businesses along First Street, Cotton Avenue, and Second Street tomorrow. Looking for something fun to do with your family this Halloween in #downtownmacon? Join us for our Halloween bingo game! But this isn't just any game of bingo. You'll have to figure out creepy clues to fill 5 spaces on this Boo Board. You have until Thursday, October 29 to fill a vertical, horizontal, or diagonal line. And just like any bingo board, this Boo Board has a free space. Once you can say "boo-go!", stop by NewTown Macon's office at 555 Poplar Street on Thursd...ay, October 29 between 4pm and 7pm. Each child present will receive a treat bag filled with candy and other goodies from downtown businesses. The first 50 families to turn in their completed Boo Boards will be given a free ticket to Triangle Arts Macon's drive-thru trick or treat event taking place on October 30 & 31! We can't wait to share the growth and change that has happened in #downtownmacon during tonight's Tour of Progress 2020! Planning to attend? Here's what you need to know: Check in and pick up your tour map from Fall Line Brewing Co. this afternoon between 4:00pm and 6:00pm. Have your phone fully charged so that you can scan the QR codes at each stop to learn more about highlighted projects and businesses. Wear comfy shoes and be prepared to walk or stand for about an... hour to complete the tour. Return to Fall Line after completing the tour for an outdoor, socially distant reception featuring light refreshments, beer, and tea and music by DubShak! Be sure to return to Fall Line by 6:45pm to enjoy the Partners in Progress Awards Ceremony that starts at 7:00pm. Mask up to create a safe experience for all involved. Park in the lot across the street from Fall Line. If you wish, grab a complimentary beer to-go from Fall Line to enjoy during your tour thanks to the extended open container ordinance. This event is FREE and open to the public! Grab a friend, mask up, and join us at Fall Line Brewing Co. tonight. We'll see you there!

2020 has been one heck of a year. Despite the challenges we've all faced, #downtownmacon is still growing and our downtown businesses are still offering the products and experiences you love. That's why we can't wait to celebrate all the good things that have happened downtown with you during next week's Tour of Progress 2020! Just like how our downtown businesses have adapted, we've made a few changes to how we're presenting this year's tour to ensure we keep everyone safe a...nd healthy. Check it out Tours are self-guided. That means you take the tour on your own and at your own pace. You don't have to worry about being in a crowd and you still get all the awesome content you've come to expect during the Tour of Progress. Tours take place outdoors. There are a few stops that will be open for you to step inside if you choose to do so. And the Partners in Progress Awards Ceremony & Reception will take place outdoors in Fall Line Brewing Co.'s 6,000 square foot beer garden! Masks and social distancing are required. If you don't have a mask, we're happy to provide one to you. We hope you'll join us for this experience and this opportunity to reflect on the progress we've made downtown.
