On behalf of Engineers without Borders @ GT (EWB-GT), we are excited to present the first session of our Global Seminar Lecture Series. These seminars are aimed to introduce us on how to become better educated global citizens and how to integrate service in our own personal mission. Our first session will be hosted by Dr. Kirk Bowman, Jon R. Wilcox Term Professor of Global Development and Identity. Dr. Bowman, a specialist in Latin American politics and political development,... is a well-accomplished author, speaker, and co-producer. His current research projects include a book on soccer and global politics and using experimental design to test the effect of local change agents and youth high performance addictions in marginalized neighborhoods of the Global South. This seminar will be a brief peek into Dr. Bowman's forthcoming book, Reimagining Global Philanthropy: Banking on the Locals (Columbia University Press). Dr. Bowman will also discuss the work of his Georgia Tech VIP: Global Social Entrepreneurship team and the actions they are taking in Brazil and Colombia.
