Northwest Youth Power Garden

Welcome our new addition to the garden: a tool shed! It was installed this morning, and we're excited to start using it. Come check it out during our work hours on Mondays and Wednesdays 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Everyone worked so hard to take apart the Super Giant garden and get it ready to move to Northwest Youth Power Community Teaching Garden.

Volunteers from Emory, the Atlanta Community Food Bank, and the Bankhead community.

Last night, the Emerald Corridor Foundation hosted an open house at their office on Hollowell Pkwy, sharing an introduction to the foundation and the upcoming P...roctor Park. The foundation also announced the first grant recipient through their community giving program. The Emory Urban Health Initiative in collaboration with Reverend Larry Hill of Northwest Youth Power will receive a $15,000 grant to establish a new community garden in the Vine City Neighborhood at Historic Westside Village adjacent the Walmart. www.Growwhereyouare.farm continues to work with students and elders as we assist in rebuilding the Emory University garden for their Urban Health Initiative. Come see our progress at Northwest Youth Power by the Bankhead MARTA station.

The new garden will be situated at 1225 Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway near the Northwest Youth Power daycare center and the Asa Yancey Grady Clinic an ideal location to engage local children at the nearby partner preschool and attract patients and visitors from the clinic.
