Thank you to all of the citizens and special guests who braved the weather to attend my State of the City address last night, as well as many of you that watched the live feed. I am humbled by the feedback and support, and I appreciate your interest and attention throughout the long presentation. Believe me, we had to edit so many of the accomplishments and new projects out of the address, but it was still a lengthy list. Friends, I am honored to be selected as CHEROKEE COUNTY's KING OF MARDI GRAS nominee for the 2022 Mardi Gras in the Mountains. This annual fundraiser benefits ...Georgia Mountains Hospice, a local non-profit organization that provides end of life care to people in Cherokee, Gilmer, and Pickens County. Their services are provided even when families and patients can not pay. Hospice is a cause that is near and dear to my heart as both of my parents and sister benefited from in home hospice care. These hospice workers are angels on earth, and I am excited to have an opportunity to now support them with this event. I am also proud to serve alongside Cherokee County's Queen of Mardi Gras nominee, Kristi Estes, and hope you will please support us both and help us win the CROWN at this year's event on Feb 19!
