Hygiene Item Collection for Veterans Supporting the Mission of Hope Atlanta During May, Oak Grove will collect hygiene items for veterans to assist the work of Hope Atlanta. HOPE Atlanta has dedicated staff and services for veterans as they deal with losing housing or needing help keeping their housing. Since the pandemic started, the daily number of calls received from veterans has soared to three times the regular amount. The biggest needs are for emergency housing, utili...ty assistance and for daily needs to be met. Hygiene kits are a great way to help care for these veterans when in emergency housing or when found with not enough funds to buy basic supplies. Items needed (full-size containers): Shampoo Conditioner Lotion Soap Toothbursh Toothpaste Lip balm Deodorant Please drop items in the pink bins at the Youth/Fairoaks entrance of the church through May 31.

Book Collection for Wellroot Oak Grove is collecting books for children pre-K 5th grade for children served through Wellroot Family services. New or gently used books can be dropped in the pink buckets at the Youth/Fairoaks entrance to the church. Thanks for helping us ensure that every child has a book to call his or her own!

Let us give thanks to God for the land of our birth with all its chartered liberties. For all the wonder of our country's story: We give thanks to you O God. As this day brings them memories of those they have lost awhile, may it also bring your consolation and the assurance that their loved ones are alive now and forever in your living presence.
