"Filtering the Facts" by Oil Solutions Group The Filtration Experts This week: Oil Filtration Media Part One. As you develop your restaurant Oil Management Program, you have a lot of choices and one in particular we would like to assist with is Oil Filtration Media. Some are good, some are exceptionalbut all are better than not filtering at all. Over the coming weeks we will share our insight on available filter media to you and your Brand.... Today, let's look at Cellulose Paper filters versus the Masterfil reusable filter: Cellulose paper filters, though inexpensive, typically filter particulate from 30-120 micron - again, much better than not filtering your oil. Paper filters tear easily and are generally single-use. Considering their nature, paper filter soak perfectly usable cooking oil and that oil is prematurely thrown away many times well over ONE POUND of oil per filter. Fabric filters such as Masterfil are durable, can be used for up to one week, removes the smallest particulate (down to 0.5 micron) and wicks oil rather than absorbing it.
