Old Sautee Store

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our beloved friend and employee, Midred Rich, passed away on Thursday December 30. She was 81. She worked at the Old Sautee Store for 42 years! For all of those years she was the heart and soul of the store, and for the last 18 years, since Jean and I owned the store, a true and loyal friend. We literally could not have made it without her caring love and devotion to the store, to us, and to everyone who knew and worked with her.... She was calm, patient and wise, and always had a great story to tell about almost anything! She was a legendary figure who represented the store with grace and dignity. Everyone loved Mildred!She will be sorely missed, and will never, ever be replaced or forgotten! Her funeral will be held at 2:00 on Saturday, January 1, at the Barrett Chapel in Cleveland. Visitation precedes the service. RIP MildredWe love you! See more

The Hardman Farm and the adjacent Hardman to Helen Trail are huge assets to this place we call home, and help define the whole feel of this amazing piece of Georgia. Make sure you see it when you’re visiting in the area. It dates from the same era as the Old Sautee Store.

Coming this weekend - A change, something new and a reminder. Due to potentially messy weather, Saturday's Itching to Sow workshop has been cancelled. Note that... is is offered again on 2/27. The docents that staff Heritage Days will, this weekend, be on site BOTH Saturday and Sunday. Stop by to say hello. And, the 2021 WinterFest Arts Tour runs Saturday and Sunday.
