Pawsitive Obedience

No prior experience necessary for this workshop. Both days are for beginners! Both days will be the same so you can attend only one day.

A new CGC class will be starting April 9th at CritterSit and Pawsitive Obedience running eight weeks. The evaluation will be held after completion of the 8 week class. We will cover all the required exercises in the Canine Good Citizen test. Also, we will cover the new revised test for behaviors needed to pass the Therapy Dog test. If you have a mixed breed or purebred, you can register your dog w/AKC and receive a title from AKC after passing the CGC test. The first of many we hope!!! A WORKING WEEKEND HOSTED BY CRITTERSIT/PAWSITIVE AND JANET RAHN FEBRUARY 9TH, 1:00-4:00, PUPPIES INTRODUCTION TO FOUNDATION, LEARN TO LEARN... We will be teaching puppies the art of paying attention, handlers how and when to praise and reward. We will work the puppies on targeting which is a foundation exercise used in many fields of training and used though out their learning career. Call to reserve your spot and for additional info, 912-663-5225 or email, [email protected]. $45/3 hour session FEBRUARY 10TH, 10:00-4:00 PHYSICAL FITNESS, STRENGTH YOUR DOGS' CORE Janet Rahn will bring equipment to show you how to exercise and strengthen your dog to help prevent injuries whether you're doing agility or obedience. If not taught correctly, repetitive jumping, can cause injury. This will be fun for both dog and handler. Dogs will get a chance to try all the equipment and exercises. Heads up Savannah Dog Fancy!!! Today, the Chatham County Commission had their first reading of "amended and new ordinances" outlining responsible pet ownership and obligations of all pet owners. ****This adds a requirement to microchip dogs and cats AND for MANDATORY SPAY AND NEUTERING OF ALL DOGS AND CATS, with exceptions. I like the microchip idea, not against that. They will have a second reading and we need the community at large to be there including our members who can. Certainly, contact your district commissioner. You know the City of Savannah will follow suit. So you in the City, we need your support too. Having spay/neuter clinics that are affordable here in Chatham would be a better idea. The next CC Commission meeting is January 25. We need to flood the meeting with good alternatives, ideas and suggestions. Start now.
