This little bundle of joy joined our farm on Monday April 26th sometime betwwen 3:15 and 4:45. When Greg found him his Mamma Sprinkles had already cleaned EVERYTHING up...theres was almost no evidence of the birth. I was the last to check on her at 3:15 and she was Not showing any signs except her ligaments were gone so we had her in a birthing pen as we knew it was soon. Sad to have missed it but the cuddles this guy gives makes up for it all. He barely makes a peep when we hold him and is loved by the entire family! His name isnt official yet but might be Spritzer...Speedy...or Gregs choice and our least favorite(Spanky). His Grandmas name is Sparkles. What name ideas do our farm friends out there have?
Alpacas arent the only ones who get summer cuts on the farm here...our sweet night gaurd sometimes day guard if copper needs back up gets one too. Winter is sooo happy to feel light again!
Todays before and after is of Tigger our favorite even though shes a spitter . Her fur is so much darker underneath if it wasnt for her mop top I wouldnt have been positive it was her afterward. She hates getting sheared she screamed the whole time but afterwards shes prolly the happiest of them all.
Next up on the before and after is the handsome Wickett. Hes a family favorite since he always puts up with our shenanigans.
I can't believe how phenomenal my cactus has done since we started fertilizing it with our Alpaca Poo. This was a $3 plant at Food Lion a few years ago and it's never looked so amazing! If you are interested in some "tea" for your plants let us know. Shipping available.
Wickett and Rori are enjoying sharing alpaca knowledge with everyone today at the Walker County Farmers market ;). Stop by and say hi!
Today was shot day which also means picture day ;).
It's a great day to migrate ;)
