The Pickens County School District has just announced extracurricular activities will continue, with restrictions. Earlier today the district announced schools will be closed this week and in-person students will begin distance learning January 11 due to reasons related to COVID-19 spread. The Pickens County School District has just announced schools will remain closed the remainder of this week due to a variety of reasons related to the spread of COVID-19. Students were originally scheduled to return to school campuses on Wednesday, Jan. 6. On Monday, January 11, traditional students will be expected to participate in distance learning on the It's Learning platform. Please see attached release for more details about the closure and distance learning.

The $600 payment per qualifying individual and child has been met by mixed reviews, ranging from some who think the amount is not enough, to others who think payments are socialism in America.
