Mental health awareness increases the chances for early intervention, which can result in a fast recovery. It’s important that we stay educated on both our physical and mental health. #mentalhealthawareness #brainhealth #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #thingstoknow

Even though we are in the midst of a pandemic, you, family, and friends may be traveling during the summer. There are ways to stay safe while you travel during this time. Here are some helpful tips to stay safe during this pandemic: *Wash your hands as often as possible before eating, and touching your face. *Wear a face mask when outside. If flying, consider putting on a face mask too.... *Avoid touching your face, nose, and mouth. *Cover your mouth with a tissue or your elbow when coughing and sneezing. *When traveling to states where restaurants are open for dine in, consider ordering your meals to go or to be picked up by the curbside. *Ensure to keep a 6-feet distance between you and anyone you come across. *Travel with a hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and consider using a face mask when flying. #covid19 #travel #staysafe

Lowering one’s blood sugar level may seem impossible at times but here are 4 ways we discovered that can help; 1. Implement Portion Control. Portion control means choosing a healthy amount of certain food. This can regulate calorie intake and can even lead to weight loss because it helps you get the benefit of the nutients in your food without overeating. 2. Choosing foods with a Low Glycemic Index. Eating low-glycemic-index foods such as legumes, nuts, whole grains, fruits..., vegetables without starch and so on, has been shown to reduce long-term blood sugar levels in type 1 and type 2 diabetics. 3. Control Stress Levels. 4. Getting Enough Quality Sleep.

Ways to maintain a stable mental health in COVID19 Taking care of your body:- Take the time to breathe, meditate, and stretch. Try yoga, eat healthy, exercise regularly, and get enough rest - at least 7-8hours daily. Take time out of social media and watching television:- Reading exercises our minds, so while giving time to unplug from social media and TV, try reading a good book or listening to one. You can also follow a positive podcast or listen to a motivating song.... Get adventurous with your activities by giving a new hobby a try, and if you can, invite a friend to join you in this. Talk to someone to help you through these times:- Never walk through anxiety alone, If you live by yourself and cannot physically see your family or friend(s), give them a call using platforms such as Facetime, Skype, Zoom, Google Hangouts, Facebook, and so on. Connecting with someone through calls (video calls preferably) can help relieve the pressure we feel. Avoid using alcohol to suppress your anxiety:- Alcohol is a sedative and a depressant that affects the central nervous system. At first, drinking can reduce fears and take your mind off of your troubles. It can even make you feel less shy, give you a boost in mood, and make you feel generally relaxed. But alcohol can only reduce anxiety temporarily, it can also increase anxiety within just a few hours of consumption and cause panick attack, nausea, agitation and elevated blood pressure and heart rate when taking too much, which tends to happen during anxiety. So avoiding settling for alcohol is the first healing phase. These are a few ways to maintain a stable mental health during COVID-19. From all of us at Place of Hope Clinic, we hope you continue to stay safe and healthy. If you would like to speak with a health provider concerning your primary health, please contact us to schedule an appointment. Did you know that choosing to bake meals instead of frying would provide multiple health benefits like reducing oil consumption, cause a decrease in the loss of omega-3 fatty acids, and so much more. This week we #challenge you to bake all meals that you would typically fry. Make sure to try it out! . #remedy #health #healthyliving #claytoncounty #dekalbcounty #fayettecounty #fultoncounty #henrycounty #atlanta #georgia #friedfood #bakedfood

Volunteering at Place of Hope has gained me experience and leadership skills. I am able to show out to communities who don't have access to affordable healthcare services. It takes teamwork and enough volunteers for the full flow of the service to be incorporated efficiently. I have seen Place of Hope impact our community by providing direct medical care for the uninsured and underinsured, and health awareness to individuals in most need. I am happy to be volunteering at Pla...ce of Hope Clinic and helping our community access proper affordable healthcare. - Ife Afon (@lifewith_ife) Volunteering with us is another way of supporting our mission to reach the unreached in #georgia. We hope you choose to volunteer today. Pineapple juice contains a lot of Bromelain which is an enzyme that has anti-inflammatory and mucolytic properties. This allows for mucus to breakdown and be removed from the body. Drinking pineapple juice daily can reduce mucus and suppress your cough while partaking in a tasty beverage! #clinic #cough #remedy #health #healthyliving #claytoncounty #dekalbcounty #fayettecounty #fultoncounty #henrycounty #atlanta #georgia #usa
