Did you know that taking your child’s lead during play for 15 minutes a day can meet their need for both power and connection?! This could reduce power struggle...s throughout the day!! Taking your child’s lead means getting down on the floor, limiting the amount of moments you teach or ask questions, and just commenting on what they’re doing. If they put you in a role, go with it! It’s definitely not an easy skill and takes practice. Sometimes the idea of playing for 15 minutes after a long day is not our favorite one. It’s like creating a new workout routine. It takes daily consistency and effort before you see a difference in your child’s behavior. See more
