With the Christmas season upon us we would like to kindly ask that you refrain from using flashing blue and red lights. We’ve had complaints from criminals that they believe they’ve happened upon the fuzz, which leaves them scrambling to hide their gun and drugs, throw out their drink, buckle-up, throw their phone down, and have to drive correctly. That’s a lot of stress for anyone, but especially at Christmas! We thank you for your cooperation abs hope you all have a great Holiday Season.

No one likes getting a speeding ticket. Most police officers don’t enjoy writing them. However, after seeing that speed is the number one factor for crashes in Polk County that’s why we enforce the speed limits. This driver tonight was doing 108 mph in a 55 mph zone. He will now be getting a free nights stay at the Polk County Jail. Slow down and watch your speed. If not we will be stopping you or speaking with your family about an accident you may be involved in.

If you traveled down Substation Road today, you may have been in for some entertainment. In the pictures above, you can see Sergeant Dyer and Detective Bowman doing something that wasn’t taught in our Field Training manual...wrangling donkey’s. After a tedious time (one donkey was a little stubborn), both donkey’s have been secured, and are awaiting to be returned to their home. Sergeant Dyer and Detective Bowman will now be carrying some lead rope, and feed in their patrol vehicles. Special thanks to Director Crawford of Polk County Animal Control for the assistance. Have a safe night Polk, and call us if you need us!

Well good morning Polk County! Unfortunately for this unlicensed pharmacist we had to close up shop for him last night. However, we were able to get two stolen guns off of him and another firearm, some Methamphetamine, some cocaine, marijuana, and a cocktail of pills. Guessing he didn’t have luck on his Cash 3 tickets , and that’s why he is still dealing. Either way more poison off the streets and guns out of the criminals hands! Have a great day!

Polk County Police Department- Georgia 29.07.2020

PSA: If you’re going to hide the stolen four wheeler in your out building, please hide your ounce and a half of Methamphetamine in a different location. We do enjoy a more difficult game of hide and seek. The end result was two people arrested, four wheeler returned, and lives saved from removing this toxin from the streets! Have a great weekend Polk County!

We understand that elections and debates get heated. We also understand you may not agree with what a candidate says or stands for. However, these are not valid reasons to call 911. We kindly ask that if you’re going to scream at your tv or candidates that you’re polite and warn neighbors. Put the dog in another room as it may scare him also. Lastly, Snoopy is not eligible to be a write-in candidate either. You may now carry on with your regular scheduled Wednesday! We love you Polk County and hope you have a good night.
