Imagine having an implant that can promote tissue ingrowth. What does an implant like that need? It needs lots of nooks and crannies. And we wanted you to be able to review those porous spaces up close. So, when we developed our website, we put in the ability to magnify each implant to get a zoomed-in view. Take a look at this Burr Hole Cover. You can see the porous spaces pretty easily in the original image. But just wait until you look at it magnified. Frankly, we can't get enough.
Check this out. You can get to know our implants front and center. See them from all sides. Literally. With our website, you can do exactly that. The 360 view lets you do it. Here's our Burr Hole Cover in 360. You'll be able to do that with every implant in our product line when our site goes fully Live next week!
It's Fun Fact Friday! Last week, we introduced Cody. For those who haven’t met him, he is a desk model showcasing how Su-Por Surgical Implants work and fit. While unique in his own right, Cody - whose name incidentally means helpful - is far from the only model employed for this purpose. Humankind has a long, rich history of blending art and medicine to craft models and create elaborate illustrations to advance and disseminate medicine. Examples include the Ancient Chinese ...use of wax and ivory human figures to determine the location of ailments (some individuals did not want their pulse to be physically felt) and Leonardo da Vinci’s revolutionary, empirical renderings of the human body. Cody’s use and recognition as one of these vehicles illustrates our commitment to helping surgeons care for their patients, our appreciation of tradition, our and goal of solidifying Poriferous’ place in the history (and future) or craniomaxillofacial reconstruction and augmentation. This post comes to you via Drew Schulz, one of our design engineers.
We’re super proud of our implants. We think they’re amazing. And we want you to think they are too. So, we wanted to make sure that you could get an up close and personal view of each implant so you can evaluate them for yourself. Because of that, our new website has a 360 view of each implant. Just look at this cranial flex grid. You’ll be able to see each implant in detail on our new website. It goes fully online in less than two weeks!
Imagine you had all the tools you needed to perform your surgeries and a partner who was there for more than to serve your surgical implant needs. Here's one of the ways we partner with surgeons. It's a surgical planning case showing surgical cut guide and progression to replacement with cranioplasty. We're here to make sure you have all your surgical implant needs met in addition to going beyond just the implant. Get in touch if you want to know more.
We were excited to host Deputy Commissioner for International Trade, Mary Waters, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Pat Wilson, and International Trade Manager, Maxine Bier to show them the work our team is doing to help surgeons and their patients. They saw the many Su-Por implants we have available to doctors in the USA and abroad.
Poriferous, LLC Named Exporter of the Year Georgia Department of Economic Development Recognizes Poriferous with GLOBE Award On December 14, 2020, the Georgia Department of Economic Development named Poriferous, LLC the winner of the 2020 GLOBE award for Exporter of the Year, Small Business. The award recognizes companies that have entered new international markets during the past year. Previous winners include Aventure Aviation and Hydro Dynamics, Inc.... We’re thrilled and honored to receive this award from the great State of Georgia, says Aaron Noble, founder and CEO of Poriferous. Deputy Commissioner for International Trade, Mary Waters, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Pat Wilson, and International Trade Manager, Maxine Bier were on-site to award the honor to the company. Noble and the staff also treated their visitors to a presentation on the implants and the work they do at their Newnan, Georgia headquarters.

Now's the time! Many of us are heading to the attic or the garage and breaking out this year's ornaments to decorate our trees. Or, we're lighting the candles of a menorah or a kinara. It's a time for traditions, friendship, and family. Here at Poriferous, we're lucky that in addition to being an efficient and well-oiled machine in serving surgeons and their patients, we're also a family. We have fun and lovely traditions of working and celebrating together. What are your tra...ditions? We'd love to know how you celebrate the season. #plasticsurgery #orbitalimplants #boardcertifiedplasticsurgeons #cosmeticsurgery #plasticsurgeons #bestplasticsurgeon #plasticsurgeon #medicalprocedures #poriferous #supor #neurosurgery #neurosurgeons #patientcare #tissueingrowth #surgeons #surgery #asps #asoprs #aaronnoble #patientspecificimplants #innovation #creativity #polyethylene #porousimplants #traditions #holidayseason #christmas #hannukah #kwanzaa
It's Fun Fact Friday*! Mr. Owl, How many holes are in a Su-Por Surgical Implant? While one may think the answer can be gained by counting the perfectly-spaced, perfectly-sized pores dotting the implant's surface, the answer is much more complex and lies in a branch of mathematics known as topology. Whether blind holes or through holes, what's proven time and time again is the clinical value these "Su-Pores" present and the tissue in-growth they facilitate. While some may th...ink of holes as mere regions of space (or the lack-there-of), the aptly titled "Holes" entry into the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy notes, among other things, "They are not just regions of space, for holes can move, as happens any time you move a donut, whereas regions of space cannot. But as regions of spacetime, they can be said to move in virtue of having different temporal parts follow one another in different places." https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/holes/ *Brought to you by Drew Schulz, one of our amazing design engineers.
