Black History Month feels a little different this year as we are elated to celebrate President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’s 1st President’s Day in their new roles. As a black-owned Public Relations firm we can’t be more excited to watch our new history unfold, as Kamala Harris took office as the first black woman to make her mark as the Vice President of the United States. We are proud that we have two people in office that are not only intelligent, and driven but value equality and fairness. And for that, we are grateful. Happy President Day and Happy Black History Month! #PresidentDay #2021 #KamalaHarris #JoeBiden #BlackWomen #HerStory #WeDidItJoe #BlackHistoryMonth

Today we celebrate and remember the life and legacy Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. left on this world. Be the peace you wish to see in the world - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. ... Happy MLK Day from PRecise January 18, 2021

PRecise Communications 05.01.2021

THE MLK DAY SHOULD NOT BE BASTARDIZED OR COMMERCIALIZED This morning as I scrolled my social media timelines, the following ads for Modani Furniture and FitTrack popped up. They immediately struck the nerve of this multicultural marketing expert, and Black woman/consumer. I am aware that for years brands have leveraged Presidents Day, Columbus Day, Labor Day, virtually every holiday, as sales dates. While MLK Day is a national holiday and brands may see it as a fit, I adamant...ly disagree -- especially in today's climate. One, I don't agree that all the people we recognize deserve those days of recognition and perhaps how they are maximized for marketing purposes should be revisited as well. However, Dr. King is a contemporary hero whose efforts and effects are still discussed, felt, revered and learned from to this day. HIs legacy stands for: unity; human rights; a level playing field in all aspects of society; understanding, appreciation and tolerance of differences; a true democracy; protests free of physical violence; an America without police brutality and justice for all. Are FitTrack and Modani awake? Are they paying attention to current events? FitTrack says their sale is in HONOR of MLK. How? These ads are marketing fails and sadly, I'm sure there's more to come. --Alexis

As we celebrate laborers everywhere, let us not forget the work journalists do everyday to keep our communities informed. This year, we had the pleasre of helping Toyota USA & (NABJ) National Association of Black Journalists pay homage to some of the bravest individuals risking their own lives to share stories of truth. A big THANK YOU to the reporters who helped bring this message to life by sharing real-time footage for us to use. We see you and we thank you. #LaborDay #NABJNAHJ20
