This was a collaboration with CDC single-dose HIV prophylaxis, taken either immediately before or after sex. Macaque modeling studies demonstrated high biological efficacy, while #AMIS survey data showed willingness to use this regimen among #MSM. This work provides evidence that on-demand #PrEP/PEP is a promising #HIV prevention strategy and supports future clinical trials to determine efficacy in humans. Using data from #AMIS, this analysis found that there is a high prevalence of childhood trauma, such as abuse or neglect, among MSM and exposure to these events was associated with higher illicit substance use, STI testing and condomless anal intercourse.
