It’s #chopping time at Providence Dairy. Do you know what that means? I’m sure some of you do! LONG hours, RAIN we need but we didn’t really need it while trying to chop. TRACTORS getting stuck and making the trucks wait, and of course BROKEN equipment on day 3. It’s always something! Such is the way of #Farmlife! We push through and we’re #stillfarming! It’s a pretty picture... until you find out it’s cow poop This is our lagoon pond. This is where all the cow poop goes when we flush our barns. ... There are two stages. Solid stage and Liquid stage. The solid stage is what we pump into the tankers and spread on the fields twice a year. We will be working around the clock for about a week to get this done. The liquid stage is what we use to flush out our barns so we aren’t using up fresh water and we also use the second stage to water our fields throughout the year to fertilize crops around the farm, which is also saving fresh water. I wouldn’t recommend playing in a pivot around our farm, there is a huge chance it’s gonna be poop water So here’s to sustainability!

I’ve seen posts going around, and I’ve been asked personally about bovine and canine vaccines for coronavirus since this mess started. This vaccination for cattle and dogs against coronavirus does occur, but the vaccine is in no way effective against the new strain of human coronavirus. ... When we vaccinate our cattle, it’s given to cows 45 days before calving to pass on antibodies in the colostrum for calves to prevent gastrointestinal infection due to Rotavirus and Coronavirus. In calves Coronavirus causes inflammation in the lining of the gut which prevents water absorption and causes diarrhea. So please, please do not try and take these! There isn’t a vaccine for humans, and as you can tell the vaccine for cattle doesn’t do anything for the symptoms of Covid-19. I just really don’t want any of you to make yourselves sick or die from this vaccine because you were trying to save yourself from Covid!
