The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Meriwether County, Muscogee County, Troup County and Harris County in west central Georgia...Until 830 PM EDT.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Lee And Chambers County in east central Alabama...Until 800 PM CDT.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for much of central and west central Georgia and east central Alabama until 1am ET/12am CT. The main hazards will be damaging wind gusts, very heavy rain, cloud-to-ground lightning, and an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out.

Strong storms moving into Harris and Muscogee County. Hazards include wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph, penny sized hail, frequent lightning, and heavy rain. Watch out for temporary street flooding, especially in poor drainage areas.

The tornado watch area is approximately along and 55 statute miles east and west of a line from 50 miles south southwest of Panama City, FL to 10 miles north northeast of Columbus, GA.
