The Rabun County Sheriff's Office is hiring for two Part Time Deputies for Inmate Transportation. You must be a mandated law enforcement officer, in good standing to be considered. This is the perfect position for former law enforcement officers or retired law enforcement officers. Inmate Transportation is responsible for transporting inmates to and from specific locations. Applications can be picked up any time Monday- Friday from 9:00 am-5:00 pm at the Rabun County Sheriff's Office or completed online at www.rabunsheriff.org

The Governor's Office of Highway Safety offers its heartfelt condolences to the Holly Springs Police Department and to the family of the officer killed in the line of duty last night.

We at the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office ask you to please join us as we keep the Holly Springs Police Department in our thoughts and prayers as they mourn the loss of one of their officers who was shot and killed by a suspect last night. We pray for the families of all involved and the community impacted by this tragedy.

Sheriff Nichols is pleased to announce the recertification of our K9 deputies. Our K9 Units attended the South Georgia K9 Seminar in Perry, Georgia and were recertified in tracking and drug detection. Thanks to the Dooly County Sheriff's Office and the Houston County Sheriff's Office for hosting this training event. Thanks to Sgt. Watts and Deputy Hyer for their dedicated work with these K9 deputies this week and throughout the year!
