Parks and Recreation Splash Pad Progress Report The City of Villa Rica received SPLOST money in the Carroll County 2018 SPLOST Program to construct a Splash Pa...d at Gold Dust Park. Although the project has been underway for several months now, several delays caused by weather and hitting shipping projections have slowed the progress. The project is coming along however with a new look every day. The project consists of the design and construction of a filtration system serving the new Splash Pad water feature of approximately 2,000sq.ft. above ground and ground level features. A pool deck, four deck shade structures, an 800 sq. ft. restroom facility and fencing will complement the pad structure. In addition, an 800 sq. ft. pavilion will also provide a covered respite for parents, kids, and other park users. The Splash Pad will be a seasonal operation. A projected substantial completion date of August 1st is expected for the Splash Pad and restrooms but some additional delays could delay the construction completion of the pavilion.
