The dumpster was full of personal documents that included home loans, copies of personal checks, purchase orders and site plans all on display in several large bins on several school campuses. An IT Manager at D.R. Horton, who is married to a former teacher at the local high school, was "simply wanting to help the school’s recycling program". WOW!

"I think it is kind of scary that a doctor's office would just throw out people's files like that," store manager Tim Cowell said. The records are from the practice of Dr. Stephen Secunda, an Ormond Beach chiropractor, who died in 2011. The documents are now being held by the Port Orange Police Department.

Hundreds of personal records including social security numbers and driving records were discovered in recycling dumpster. A Washington Inventory Service employee told the news crew that it was perfectly legal to dump the records in the recycling dumpster; but shortly after, her story changed to indicate the documents had been dumped accidentally.

The documents all had Washington Inventory Service on the top, and an employee from the company initially told 41 Action News that leaving the documents in the dumpster was perfectly legal because it was private dumpster on private property. The employee later changed her story and said the company was shredding old documents, but one box was thrown in the recycle bin by mistake.

VanHouten said he wasn't in town when the incident happened, so when employees asked him what to do, he told them just to throw the files away. Police say after searching through the files, they clearly found client dates of birth, Social Security numbers and in some cases copies of credit cards.

There was personal information, dates of birth, student progress reports, graded assignments and file folders. "It's very concerning as a parent of a high school teen to know you are paying pretty good sums of money to send your kid to a private school and for them to be throwing away items that has your personal information into the trash. Everyone in there is a potential victim of identity theft."

Records from as many as 277,000 patients admitted to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth from 1980 to 1990 ended up at an east Dallas park. The records may include names, addresses, dates of birth, medical record numbers and Social Security numbers, Texas Health said in a statement.

"As I was going through the stuff I saw files and they looked like medical files," said Springfield's Bryant Longey. Bryant stumbled upon this dumpster out on a walk this weekend, when he noticed dozens of personal files. The files came from the Behavioral Health Network in Springfield, a service both he and his mom utilize.

The papers are filled with names, addresses, credit card numbers and moreeverything an identity thief would want. Thankfully that’s not who made the discovery. The most recent transactions seem to be within the past few weeks and those credit cards were still active.

Mary Stompe, executive director of PEP Housing in Petaluma, said "I kept looking and found about 150 I-9 forms, which have Social Security numbers, birth dates, copies of passports and drivers license numbers. There was so much information there, If it got in the wrong hands, it could have resulted in a huge amount of identity fraud."
