I wish John Lennon was turning 80 today. He's still admired by anyone who understands how much he and his bandmates shaped the music of our lives. Here's a pic of one of his original admirers, Cynthia Powell, before she became Mrs. Lennon.

Neal Mckeown ... https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2386345561672783 Some terribly uninformed people have said Ringo wasn't very good. Well, I say those people aren't drummers. Ringo was my mentor. The man who got me into drums after I "borrowed" my dad's kit at age 15. Ringo was, and is, absolutely astounding both on record, and even more so, live. He was Mr. Meter, Mr. Backbeat. AND he did it all with with no monitors. I repeat, no monitors! He had to sit behind those tiny amps on a tall riser, with no PA, and keep time while 40,000+ fans (98% girls) screamed their ever-loving guts out. If you're a real drummer, you know this and bow to the king, Sir Richard of Starkey.
