For a number of weeks now our pastor, Brent Evans, has been going regularly to a popular city center park to do open air preaching and one on one evangelism. This past Sabbath during a fellowship time after lunch Pastor Evans shared about talking with a young man who practices veganism to avoid the "murder" of animals, and whose spirituality consists in going out into nature and meditating. He later shared the following regarding this young man’s beliefs: Scripture warns ...against the "doctrines of devils" that will include "commanding to abstain from meats, which God created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth," (1 Tim. 4:3) and nature cannot bring ultimate rejuvenation because "the creature was made subject to vanity." (Rom. 8:20) Pray that this young man and others like him will experience redemption from his "vain conversation received by tradition" through "the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot," (1 Pet. 1:19) and will be manifested as one of the sons of God in the day when "the creature also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God."
