Medical Association article talks about the "sleep crisis" for American youth. We at Reinforcement Unlimited never stopped focusing on sleep and kids. We screen every child we evaluate for sleep problems and have for over a decade!... We consult on behavioral interventions to improve quality and quantity of sleep in kids as well as make appropriate referrals to physicians that deal with medical aspects of sleep problems in children (like apnea, limb movement disorders, etc.). Early morning exposure to blue wavelength light can help heal the brain following mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), new research suggests. Results of a small, randomized controlled trial showed blue-light therapy improved brain structure and function, cognition, and sleep in this patient population. "We found that blue-light therapy improved patients' daytime sleepiness," study investigator William D. 'Scott' Killgore, PhD, told Medscape Medical News. "So those who got the ...blue light were less sleepy 6 weeks later than they had been at baseline." However, he added, it was the changes in brain structure uncovered by the investigation that made the study unique. We use improv as a tool to create self-confidence, develop teamwork, grow listening and response skills, be in the moment, use imagination, think more flexibly, adapt to changes, and so much more! It’s entertaining, social, and the perfect activity for anyone who is looking for a cool, fun activity including those who have high-functioning autism or s...imilar traits, shyness, or who struggle with social relating. Classes for children through adults. Must be able to take direction and participate in a small group environment with minimal direct supports. No acting experience needed. Code Breakers is our transitions program since 2012. Through topic-driven weekly sessions over 6 weeks, our young adults break the code of the unwritten rules of social negotiation, one of the biggest predictors of success in the workforce. A robust approach to real life issues, Code Breakers is tailored to the needs of the group. Through improvised role play, understanding context, and coached discussion in a supportive and non-judgmental environment, our participants hone their critical thinking skills and gain self-reliance toward success in all aspects of daily living.
