Maria and I hiked out to Chel today to grind corn and buy what supplies we could find. By tomorrow there will be no more produce in the market, There is no corn... now. Two major landslides and three bridge wash outs shut off the supplies for 30 plus villages here. Today for the first time in a week we had four hours without rain with a bit of welcome sunshine. It is dark now and raining hard again tonight. Over the next few days I want to make a count of homes destroyed. I am only going to count those closest to us to keep the number down. I would ask our readers to start sharing these post and make a one time donation to help. These are my neighbors. For me there is only one response- to help as much as I can. Please help us make it easier for those who lost all. * years ago my wife ate tortillas, chilly pepers and wild herbs for one year to save enough money to by a small home site. She since has given that to her oldest son. The river took have of it away and tonight is raising and they are empting the house so as not to lose their clothes and utensils. There are many others like her who not only lost there homes but the land they were on. There is no power in 14 villages and it is estimated to take three months to fix. No water in Xesalli and Sacpotal we are measuring the distance and TRE will provide piping to fix it. We have the pipe in storage and should be able to fix it within the week.
