Restorative Justice Center

The Restorative Justice Center and the City of Atlanta Community Court announces the first graduation of the Talented Tenth Program, which is an alternative sentencing program through the City of Atlanta Community Court. The guest speaker will be the Honorable Ambassador Andrew Young. The graduation will be held at the City of Atlanta Municipal Court on December 11, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.

I am convinced that imprisonment is a way of pretending to solve the problem of crime. It does nothing for the victims of crime, but perpetuates the idea of ret...ribution, thus maintaining the endless cycle of violence in our culture. It is a cruel and useless substitute for the elimination of those conditions--poverty, unemployment, homelessness, desperation, racism, greed--which are at the root of most punished crime. The crimes of the rich and powerful go mostly unpunished. See more
