Hey RFC Family! In lieu of meeting face to face at the church, Pastor Causey will be conducting Worship Devotionals via Zoom. For the month of January, this will be a four-part series titled "Perspectives for Living in 2022 and Beyond". The Worship Devotional will begin PROMPTLY each Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. We highly encourage everyone to login early in order to catch every minute of the devotional. Attendees can login as early as 10:45 a.m. This event will be a live webinar. The chat function will be disabled for the meeting and attendees will be off camera. We are exactly 39 days out from RFC Reopen! As reopening approaches, you may be wondering: Is it safe to return to in-person gatherings? To answer this question, it is important to consider that in the COVID-19 era, safe is relative based on various factors. What may be considered safe for some, may not be so for others. Infectious disease experts have told us that some people are more vulnerable to the virus (due to age, underlying health conditions, work environment, etc....,) than are others. Unfortunately, we are not yet able to control nor predict the corona virus. What we can do is mitigate the risk of its spread. With that in mind the RFC leadership has gone to great and extra lengths to create an environment, at our church, that is reasonably safe for anyone who is inclined to come. Over the next 39 days we will be sharing details of what we believe God has led us to do to insure, as best as we are able, your safety and peace of mind. So, be on the lookout for this forthcoming information as you pray about your participation when the doors of our church are reopened! Blessings, Pastor Raymond This Week’s Prayer Focus! - Lord, as we seek to reopen the doors of our church please keep our community of faith, our church family free from all harm. Fill our hearts afresh with new hope, and the presence of the Holy Spirit as we seek to reconvene in-person worship. Lord, you alone are our faithful and gracious guide. Show us the paths that you have prepared and teach us to walk in your ways. Prepare our hearts in faith and celebration as the day approaches. In Christ name we pray. Amen! Do you hang Christmas lights the day after Thanksgiving? Are your lights still up from last year? Do you guys rock matching family pajamas? Do you put The Temptations singing Silent Night on repeat? Everyone has their own way of kicking off the holidays. As we approach the time to celebrate the birth of our Savior we would love to know how you get into the holiday mood. What brings back those fond childhood memories? How do you make sure Jesus is the focus in your hom...e? During our most recent Coffee Chat sessions the RFC Hospitality Committee helped us kick off sharing our holiday traditions and memories. Now, it’s your turn! We are seeking your stories about your best holiday traditions or your favorite holiday memory. Perhaps it’s singing Christmas carols or reading ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. Was there a childhood gift that stands out in your memory even into adulthood? Tell us your story. We’d love to hear it. While 2020 has brought unexpected change for us, we know that God is in control. God’s love for us was manifested with the ultimate sacrifice. He sent his son, Christ Jesus, to atone for our sins. No matter what is going on in the world, as Christians, we have reason to celebrate. While we cannot physically share among households, sharing your traditions can help our Redemption family stay connected as we all celebrate Christ.
