Another thing... the bike count question. We get this question a LOT. Truth is, we have counters as the bikes pull out, but we never know precisely because, like yesterday, some groups come, pay, and then join from QT, etc. Some folks inevitably try and save the $10 for charity and join the ride along the way, etc. We usually take our count, compare it to the gate money, then wait a day or two for folks to count in their videos and take an average. There was a big gap this year, so that may be difficult. Our best guess is 850-900 with around 1100-1200 souls on the road and one the one incident that we are aware of, right at the start. All in all, It was a mighty day.

Many folks have sent and asked about the rider that fell over just as we exited the parking lot yesterday. He has a broken ankle. He sent and asked for a beer and wanted to know how his bike was. It just has some superficial scratches, he took the brunt of the damage. The Post Commander is going to take him a wheelchair with a leg lift today so he has wheels under him again. He wanted us to thank everyone who assisted him!

American Legion Post #233 Memorial Day Ride for America

Ride For America 20.01.2021

All, after much deliberation and consideration of the following: Current social distancing guidance and the shelter-in-place order remaining in effect for many Georgians. Knowing that the American Legion in Loganville will still be closed on Memorial Day, Consultation with our friends in Madison, as well as considering the coordination needed with first responders along the route, We have made the hard decision to cancel Ride For America 2020. Trust us, we hate this too, but we will plan to be back in 2021, bigger and better than ever!

All, an official message from RFA HQ. We have been getting lots of questions about this year's ride and all we can say at this moment is "Please Stand By". Things are complicated for sure, but we are monitoring and analyzing all aspects of the situation very carefully and at this time are still hopeful to get a Ride For America in for 2020. Of course anything we do will pursuant to local, state, and federal guidelines and common sense. We also know that to pull the ride off we will need a lot of cooperation from our law enforcement and many other partners. Please understand that this is a very stressful time for all of us as we know it is for you. We will give a final word just as soon as we can. We love our RFA family and we hope you all stay safe and well!

In case you thought all we did was ride! If you are a veteran or family of a veteran and have questions/concerns this will be a great day to meet with the people who you normally may have trouble reaching.

Hey Y'all. Welcome to the RFA Boys and the Case of the Bad Benjamin. The bank came back yesterday and told us that somebody passed us a counterfeit $100 bill on Memorial Day. Things like this happen, and since we got only one it seems very likely the person who gave it to us was not the printer and probably did not even know they had it. This is just a reminder to check your bills, folks.
