Good Morning! What a blessing to have such a wonderful last meet of the season and for it to actually happen, if you consider starting the season with COVID restrictions and the weather yesterday. Thank you to all our volunteers, parents, cheerleaders, and as always to our amazing swimmers and coaches. CONGRATS on another divisional meet WIN last night! This is a different year with no divisionals but you all should be proud of winning each of our division 2 meets this season.... Final Score: Riverwood - 537 Hammond Hills - 271 PDF results are attached and available in your Swimtopia account/app. Even as the water gets warmer, our swimmers are still breaking records...check out our Record Book on the website and here are the first place record breaks from last night: Girls 9-10 25 Freestyle: Amina McCowin broke Ellen Johnson's 2010 record with a time of 13.26 Boys 11-12 50 Breaststroke: Luke Salser broke Jason Butt's 2010 record with a time of 35.63 Boys 13-14 50 Backstroke: Ethan Salser broke Adam Lippe's record with a time of 28.54 Boys 15-18 50 Backstroke: Cal Gallagher broke John Hooven's 2009 record with a time of 25.89 Boys 7-8 50 Freestyle: Montgomery Craik broke his own record with a time of 37.26 Boys 13-14 100 IM: Ethan Salser broke his own record with a time of 1:01.55 Girls 15-18 100 IM: Angela Agcaoili broke her own record with a time of 1:02.64 WHAT'S NEXT? Sad to see such a great season come to an end. So what's next? All swimmers can join us for a fun practice this morning. We will be sending out a list of AllStar swimmers later today and just those swimmers will practice on Thursday morning for normal practices here in Riverwood. Friday morning we got practice lanes at the Aquatic Center from 9-10am. $3 per swimmer for them to practice at the Aquatic Center Friday morning. BANQUET on Tuesday June 29th: we will hand out awards and celebrate a great summer season! CONGRATS AGAIN Division 2 CHAMPS!

This week was supposed to be our first week of practice :(... while we are all sad that we can't be together this summer, we hope everyone is well. Couple things for you then I will leave you alone for the summer: The CSRA Swim League has agreed to allow any seniors this year to swim in summer league (if they would like) next summer during the 2021 summer swim season. Hopefully this will be some good news for a change for several of our seniors!... Please keep our coaches in mind this summer for swim lessons/swim conditioning one-on-one. They were looking forward to coaching and this was their summer job. Many of them have pools or access to private pools that they can teach/coach your swimmer in this summer! Lastly, our 6 coaches were so excited and ready to see all your faces this week. In effort to lift their spirits: please consider making them a card, drawing them a picture, or crafting something special for them. I will have a box on my front porch at 993 Mitchell Lane in Riverwood that you are welcome to drop these good wishes off into. I will collect these all week and then divide them out and distribute to the coaches next week. Feel free to make something for each coach or just one, I will make sure to spread your love and support to all the coaches! Hi Rapids Families, First I hope this finds everyone safe and well. We wish we had good news on this Good Friday but unfortunately, we do not. The CSRA Swim League representatives and members voted that it was in the best interest of the league to cancel the summer swim season for 2020 due to COVID-19. We are incredibly heart-broken and sad to communicate this but everyone's safety is the utmost priority. ... If we are able to, the Rapids board and Coaches will look at options of having a fun meet and possibly some practices in June. This will be determined later and communicated if we are able to facilitate this safely. On behalf of the entire Riverwood Rapids board, I wanted to reach out and share an update on summer swim league along with our wishes that everyone is staying safe, healthy, and adjusting to the new norm for a while. The CSRA Swim League, which we compete under, is proceeding with planning this summer’s swim league. That being said, we are aware that the situation is still evolving and it is unknown for sure what our future holds. In an effort to continue with planning but mi...tigate the possibility of having to refund registration costs, we are going to postpone opening online registration for Riverwood Rapids until May 1st, 2020. Registration will still open online at rapids.swimtopia.com but will not open until May 1st If you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to reach out via email [email protected] or our Contact Us information on the website.
