UPDATE ON DRAG STRIP As you all know we have been shut down due to Covid19 since March 16th. With a little time on our hands we were determined to get the additional necessary repairs to the facility underway. We had been working with the bank as well as the insurance company to secure the funds to complete the purchase based on the insurance regulations and guidelines to bring the property up to compliance code. ... We were at the stage in our lease to purchase where we able to secure financing to complete the purchase side of the agreement. Our stipulations in the financing specifically stated that the guardrail would be replaced with concrete barriers, all electrical would be brought up to code, replace all of the personnel fencing and pour 330ft of concrete to replace the decaying top end. It was made clear to us that our insurance would not cover us because they had deemed the top end as unsafe racing surface. Patching the top end was no longer a viable option. As being racers ourselves we can not in good conscience send anyone down an unsafe track. We had already spent over 100k and 16 months working on repairs and preparing for the purchase. We decided it was time to get down to business and complete the sale so we could be ready to go full bore into the 2021 racing season as of January 1st with all the repairs completed. When it came time to purchase the facility..........the property owner decided NOT to sell the property. Rather choosing only to rent out the facility 'as is'. So it is with a heavy heart we are announcing that we will NOT be renewing our lease nor continuing on at this facility. We are officially closing this location and we are no longer associated nor in charge of operation this facility. Everyone tried to tell us that until management or ownership of this facility changes hands it will never be a safe race track. Having gone through all of this we have learned a valuable lesson......we will carry on. Since we had already secured financing we are looking into building a NEW facility..... as always stay tuned there is more to come We would like to thank EVERYONE for your support through all of this chaos and your patience has been greatly appreciated.
