There is an old saying that says "never let the sun set on a dirty gun". Actually with today's modern powders and non-corrosive primers you can go awhile between cleanings. However this old saying still holds true for black powder. Here is a breech plug we were barely able to remove (as there was no anti-seize applied to it) that even after soaking over 24 hours is plugged. This was replaced but the barrel still remains pitted. This could have ruined a hunt. This also could have been avoided.

We all know unfortunate stories of how a car dealer or mechanic tries to take advantage of a customer just because she is female. Today's rant is about a Gun Shop I used to have respect for. It is in McLane Pa and is called the Keystone Armory. Julie stopped in there today with her Dad and asked a few questions about a WWII Japanese gun. The owner told her there was no such thing & if there was it was just a home made illegal gun. When she offered to show him an article on i...t as well as pictures he just said "well apparently you know more about it than I do". He then turned to his computer and ignored her. Come on people don't we have enough problems from all of the anti gun liberals? Do we really need to insult our brothers & sisters in arms? It must be nice to have so much money that you can afford to drive away customers. My family, friends and I will not be visiting the Keystone armory again. See more

Thank you to all who have served and to your families as well. And to all of you anti-gun cupcakes out there celebrating today. Remember it was people with guns that made today possible for you!

It is always a good idea to make sure your bore is clear before firing your gun. This person was very lucky as this didn't land them in the E.R.

I get one of my prescriptions direct from the drug company and they usually ship it to my Dr. where I pick it up. They have changed their policy to having it shipped to our local pharmacy. Okay no big deal right? Wrong because Chancy Drugs here in Adel said they won't do this because "there is no money in it for them". I'm talking about once every 3 months having my medicine shipped there. What if we all had this attitude? That's fine because we have several prescriptions that we will have filled elsewhere and will tell everyone who will listen about your lack of customer service.

This was a project gun that has been on the back burner for several years. This Uberti 1873 was only a collection of pieces when I got it. This had a generous coat of black spray paint on it but you couldn't tell now. Jimmy Griffin, Chance England & Johnny Newman the three amigos at Accuracy Outdoors did an EXCELLENT job of polishing and rebluing this gun. They always do such great work

Thank you to all of the men and women who serve or have ever served our great country. Thank you as well to the families that sacrificed so their loved ones could serve.

**** FIREARMS SAFTY **** 1. Always assume a firearm to be loaded 2. Never point a firearm at anything unless you are willing to kill or destroy 3. Finger off ...the trigger until your ready to fire 4. Know your targets foreground and background These are not just things we say, they are for a reason. I want to give a special shout to Scott at Top Gun shooting range. How he handle this situation was amazing. *** I didn't not post this video to bash the 2 individuals, this was to praise the range officer who saved the day. We salute you.

Okay, today's rant is about the NFL. I will start by stating that I am disgusted with the players who "take a knee" during our national anthem. These are supposed to be role models for our youth. I would also set a salary cap for all players so that they can not make anymore that our men and women in the military. I know some will argue that they need to make the big money because they never know when they could suffer a career ending injury. Well guess what cupcake, our men and women protecting this country could too! nuff said

It is a typical problem we see in many firearms. They come through the door & the customer says it jams or hangs up. Sometimes they even go bang when they shouldn't! I am posting this as we have had this twice this week so far and it's only wednesday. A little oil is a good thing in the right places. However oil dries and leaves a gummy residue or sometimes a caramel colored hard film. In both cases this week the problem was excessive oil over time causing malfunctions. These... problems are typically worse in cooler weather but even in the "deep south" they occur. So when cleaning your weapon first clean ALL of the old oils from each part and upon reassembly use only a light coat of a good quality lube. In many cases we recommend a dry lube such as Rem-Dri as it leaves a protective lube but dust & powder residue doesn't stick to it. If cleaning an AR platform a good lube is a must but regular gun oil such as Hoppes 9 will burn off at those extreme temps. There are a number of good quality oils for an AR but Mobil one works great. In most guns we do not ever recommend WD40 because of the film it leaves. Just remember keep them clean and if you prefer just take them to your local shop for a complete detail cleaning. Take care of them and they will take care of you! See more
