INFORMATION FAQ'S - PLEASE READ Arrive early: Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to beat the "last minute" traffic and get into the festival with plenty of time to spare! Gates open at 4pm on Friday June 28th and 10am on Saturday June 29th.... Bring your own chairs & blankets: Blankets and Chairs allowed! We do allow personal umbrella's for shade or possible rain. Sorry, we DO NOT allow coolers or pets. Set up your chairs in the Balloon Viewing Area. Free Parking Free parking is available on site. With backup parking, in adjacent lots very close to the Richard B Russell Airport. Shuttles will be operating as frequently as possible. Please arrive early to avoid delays. Plan accordingly for delays at the end of the evening to get back to your vehicle and out of the airport. VIP parking and Handicapped parking is available right up close to the festival. VIP & HANDICAPPED must be purchased in advance. Get your tickets for VIP Parking & Handicapped quickly before they sell out. Best route to take? From i75/140 come into the airport VIA Old Dalton Rd. From HWY 27 South head east on 140 and take OLD Dalton Rd. From HWY 27 north from Rome, take Armuchee Connector and make a left on OLD Dalton RD. Do NOT use Russell Field Rd. You will be REROUTED to Old Dalton Rd. Friday eve, and Saturday - hours: Friday evening hours are 5pm-10pm and Saturday hours are 11am - 10pm. Weather conditions: Weather will be hot and plan accordingly by dressing in light clothing, use sunscreen and drink plenty of liquids. Bring personal umbrellas for shade or possible rain. When do the balloons go up? Balloons set up after 5pm Friday and Saturday this is depending on wind and weather it may be later than expected. Please be patient as we cannot control the winds or the weather. We will provide updates throughout the evening. The Aviation portion of the Festival which includes Aerial formation flying and flyovers is Saturday from 11am to 5pm.

WHAT IS A BALLOON GLOW? What is a balloon glow? A balloon glow is just what it sounds like...but better! While tethered to the ground, hot air balloons inflate and the pilots light them from within. The sight of hot air balloons lit up is breathtaking. Pilots will coordinate all burns where they fire up their burners, illuminating all their balloons at once and also perform count downs which are very crowd participatory events. Balloon Glows will last between 1 to 1 1/2 h...ours! Plan on treating a Balloon Glow just like you would a fireworks show - bring your blankets, chairs and whole family early to get a good spot! In addition to the evening Balloon Glow there will be a variety of pre-glow festivities including; Star Wars Hot Air Balloons, Tethered Balloon Rides, tons of vendor booths, Kiddie Carnival Area, Music DJ, fantastic food vendors, and more! Tethered balloon rides will take groups of all ages on a short balloon ride (up to 60 ft in the air) while tethered to the ground. Tethered rides are $20 per person and tickets are suggested to be purchased in advance for faster lines but can be purchased on site. **Please note: All balloons will remain grounded! This is not a hot air balloon launch or race. No balloons will be launching into the air untethered. In case of excessive winds, the tethered balloons will not be inflated, but replaced with photo booth opportunities in the basket and a Rocket Glow or Candlestick Glow. Safety is our number one priority.
