Week 4 Recap! Our fourth week of Summer camp is officially in the history books! Our campers had an awesome time in their many adventures explored this week. Check them out! The Bibb County Sheriff's Office Sheriff's Outreach Section is offering free 2021 Teen Defensive Driving classes beginning in July. The classes consist of a th...ree day course of instruction. Some insurance companies offer discounted rates for customers who take this course. Free lunches will be provided each day of the class. Face masks will not be mandatory, but will be available for those who prefer one. The requirements to register for this class are: Age 15 to 20 Valid Georgia Drivers learners permit or driver’s license Must be a resident of Georgia You may sign up for either class by calling the Sheriff’s Outreach Section (S.O.S.) Office at (478) 803-2710 between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m Monday through Friday. Registration begins June 11th, 2021 and ends July 9th at 4:30 p.m. Class size is limited to 15 students per week. The course dates are: July 12 ,13, 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily (Wed. July 14th will include Driving Simulator Time at an alternate location. Instructions/directions will be provided Tuesday) July 19,20,21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily (Wed. July 21st will include Driving Simulator Time at an alternate location. Instructions/directions will be provided Tuesday) Course Location: Bibb County Sheriff’s Outreach Section 2525 Pio Nono Avenue (Middle Georgia Industrial Park), Suite 110 This year, bonus training has been added to the course. The U.S. Attorney’s Office and Bibb Sheriff’s Defensive Driving instructors will present the STLYES program (Success Tips for Youth/Law Enforcement Encounters)to the students. This program teaches proper driver/officer interaction methods for law enforcement encounters such as traffic stops.
