Roswell Disc Golf Club

The disc golf course at ERP came through Zeta surprisingly well this morning. No major uprooted or fallen trees, and only one that really affects play at all. No baskets or tee pads damaged. One tree trunk across the back corner of 8’s short tee pad. Broken/fallen tree beside 7’s basket, but behind it in the direction of play, and missed the basket when it fell. The two bridges got the worst of it. Large oak branch fell from high up onto the bridge on 2, blocking it but doing... no damage was able to drag it out of the way. Bridge on 6 wasn’t so fortunate *really* large branch fell directly on it, smashing 3-4 ft section broke the 2x4s that support the decking clean off. Wasn’t able to move that in current conditions. If you’re pulling a cart, you may want to take the long way around via the path from 6’s black tee down by the short tee location, until we can repair. Also had another large branch come down in the fairway on 6 closer to the basket, but nothing that should cause significant problems. Otherwise, there’s a wall-to-wall carpet of leaves, pine needles, and twigs/branches, but nothing that time and maybe a little cleanup effort won’t deal with. See more

From Brett Porter regarding tonight's ERP Singles League Season Finale: "I plan to be at the park by 5pm to handout payout envelopes. Your name and amount should be on each envelope so you can check that the amount is correct. The Ace throw off will start at 5:15pm on Hole 12 from the short pad. Everyone who bought into the Ace fund during the year will get between one and three throws depending on the number of weeks they played. The three closest will get $75 / $50 / $...25. After that we will move on to survivor golf. We will play all long pads starting on hole 10. The worst score (and ties) from each hole will be eliminated. After hole 12, only the best score and ties will move forward (this may be slightly adjusted based on daylight). The three winners will get $25 / $15/ $10. This is free to play to everyone. Results from 8/31 have finally been posted to https://www.discgolfscene.com//East_Roswell_P/leaderboards . Congrats to Sam Moeller on the $175 ace on Hole 8 (white). Turnout of 33 players means we're now averaging exactly 30 players per week this year. A total of nearly 70 different individuals have played this season. There are about 6 weeks left in the season for points (last night for points is Oct 12) assuming no cancelations. Start time will move up another 15 minutes with the new month and shorter days -- 5:15 sign-in, 5:30 start.
