Another update from Kelly and Cheryl: As many of you know the first court hearing is tomorrow morning. Since our last update we have retained an attorney and communicated with the DA via our attorney. Tomorrow's court hearing is an arraignment only so there is no need to attend tomorrow. Only our attorney will attend tomorrow to plead not guilty to the stated charges. I will keep every posted on when the actual hearing will be held. ... Thank you to everyone that has submitted a written testimony of the great work my Mom has done. The letters are so heart felt and wonderful! All letters have been shared with multiple people in the Department of Agriculture, the District Attorney, the Troup Co Solicitor, the City Attorney and the assistant DA in charge of this case. If you would like to submit a written testimony please do so, I will continue to share your letters as they arrive. Another update from Kelly and Cheryl: We have made very little progress on the legal side of the battle with the District Attorney and the Department of Agriculture. Therefore I want to ask if you can help by providing an email of support and/or your adoption story to the Department of Agriculture. If you have adopted an animal from my Mom we would love to provide your testimony of her service to animals, including the one you adopted! If you have worked with my Mom in rescue... or have seen her rescue efforts in action we would love to hear and use your stories too! I would like to use your words of support with the District Attorney in LaGrange as well. And we would love for you to show your support on the day that my Mom goes to court which is January 23rd at 9:00AM. Recent update from Kelly. If Safe Haven and Cheryl ever helped find you a forever friend, please consider helping her out. In the past week my Mom has made a little progress on her quest to return her dogs to their home with her. She won the right to return her two Great Danes which both have special needs to her home. Romeo and Juliette are doing much better out of the shelter environment. ... She has spent a lot of time each day at the shelter making sure that the dogs that remain there are receiving plenty of exercise, love and attention. She is spending hours just sitting with her dogs. A few of her older dogs (16 and 17 years old) are really struggling in the shelter. My Mom has sought and received legal advice and will meet with legal counsel again next week to develop a plan to expedite the return of her dogs. Also in the past week the smallest of my Moms personal dogs (4 lbs) was adopted to a wonderful home with one of my best friends. It is good to know that one of her tiniest babies is safe and receiving love every single day. If you can find it in your heart to share this campaign we will really appreciate your help to raise the remaining money needed for the attorney. Latest from Cheryl's daughter, Kelly: I thought I should share some of the comments from the folks that know my Mom. It's easy for me to say she is great because she's my Mom but here are some of the things that others are saying: For those that don't know Cheryl, she is the most caring sweet lady who devoted her life to caring for these animals. The stories being reported are untrue. Her animals with assistance from Safe Haven were vetted, spayed, neutered and loved and car...ed for. This is such an injustice. What’s the matter with these people with the DOA? She lives for taking care of these animals. She made sure they went to caring loving homes. She spent weekends at PetSmart and other places placing these dogs. She cares for the ones that no one wanted. It’s just wrong... terrible injustice. Keeping her in my prayers. Lucinda S. Nobody could care for the animals more than Cheryl. Most of the time I was able to get you on the phone you are on the way to the Vet’s office. Things will work out the help of the lord. Hey Facebook fans, we made the news in Atlanta, but unfortunately it was a one side media report. http://www.wsbtv.com/video Trying to reach out to WSB to give them our side of the story as it shows pictures of our dogs caged up now looking frighten and scared. Everything at Cheryl's house was organized and our dogs were well taken cared of. THIS is still a major disgrace. She is still in shock.

Update from Cheryl and her family: Please continue to share this post. My Mom appreciates all of the messages of support and the donations. She is working through the legal system in an effort to have her personal dogs returned. We will utilize all of the inspections that she has successfully passed over the past 10 years as a licensed Animal Rescue as proof that her animals and the rescue animals have been well cared for. We are also utilizing all of the vet records that sh...ow all dogs in her rescue are spayed, neutered, up-to-date on all shots and flea/tick/heart-worm prevention.
