Just returning from Durham- where I attended the Race Equity Institute. This training has been on my to-do-list for 3- years. This was a powerful awakening and emotional experience. Even me, a psychologist and consultant who consults and trains on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion learned so much about the history of race, racism, the intentional systemic structures and purpose, the debunking of lies, the confirmation of racist strategies since the 1600’s- and so much. Whew, this was a remember to breathe experience. I promise to share more. Heading back to Atlanta after a successful time here in Seattle with the Washington Schools Risk Management Pool’s Governing Board- leading diversity, equity and inclusion training. This is a board of school superintendents who care about their students, teachers, staff and community. I’m excited about our work and looking forward to all that we will accomplish together.

Having a wonderful time @ the Southeastern Council of Foundations 50th Annual Meeting. Today I lead a session for Philanthropy Trustees- Leading the Next Chapter of Southern Philanthropy. Spending today as a learner and community advocate by attending the Partnership for Southern Equity’s Just Health Summit. I’m thrilled to be able to hear one of the preeminent thinkers on health equity and the impact of racism on health- Dr. Camera Jones! #healthequity #actagainstracism
